The AOMAIS Sport II Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker 4.0 offers high quality sound, weatherproofing, waterproofing and a high degree of rugged durability all in one, compact speaker to suit a variety of needs.
AOMAIS Sport II Review
The AOMAIS Sport II Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker 4.0 features a waterproof rating of IPX7, which means that it remains waterproof at a depth of 1 meter (3 feet) for thirty minutes. In general, most portable speakers of this class are waterproof-rated IPX5, which doesn’t even cover submersion. If you plan to use your portable speaker by the pool, obviously a waterproof speaker with an IPX7 rating like the Sport II can only be an asset.
The Sport II is a 20W speaker that can be paired with another Sport II for a full 40W of sound as well as left and right channels for an even greater audio experience. However, just one speaker on its own goes above and beyond the standards of this class of speaker with advanced acoustical architecture to create a better overall sound quality. Additionally, there are also noise reduction features to keep things like wind and background noise at bay when used as a speakerphone.
Bluetooth 4.0 capability allows you to pair with your smartphone, Amazon Echo Dot, tablet, laptop and any other compatible device for not only ultimate compatibility and versatility but hands-free functionality as well, making it the ultimate speakerphone.
The AOMAIS Sport II comes with a wide array of accessories so you have everything you need to enjoy your new speaker right out of the box. Micro USB charging cable and aux cable are included, as well as the floating pool accessory, which acts as a floating table for your speaker so you can lounge with it right next to you as you and your speaker float serenely on the water.
First impression of the AOMAIS Sport II Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker 4.0
The Sport II definitely has a sporty outward appearance, so you can tell who their target audience is. As advertised, it’s waterproof with a IPX7 rating, which means it can survive submerged in three feet of water for up to 30 minutes, which is pretty impressive to say the least. And of course, because I’m like that, I had to test this feature out. I’m pleased to report that the speaker survived my test and still worked great afterward, so the waterproofing thing is legit, from my perspective.
One of its other big claims is being shockproof. Because I have kids, it being slammed to the ground (accidentally, of course) was an inevitability. It survived that too. Because of this and the waterproof thing, I definitely the claims of ruggedness live up to the hype, which is really cool—and obviously a must for someone who plans to take this speaker on extreme outdoor excursions.
Another big feature on the Sport II is its ability to be paired with another Sport II for a left and right channel 40W speaker set up. Once again, I had to try it. It works surprisingly well. Is it a substitute for an ultra-HD studio-quality audio setup? Of course not. But depending how picky you are, I think some—especially those hosting things like outdoor pool parties—could definitely get use out of the two-speaker setup capability.
But that’s not to say that one speaker by itself is incomplete—far from it, in fact. With 20W, there’s a lot more power behind the Sport II than many of its competitors. It has great mids, decent highs, and a very respectable bass—and that’s if you’re picky. For the average consumer, I think most will find the sound more than worth it.
Using it as a speakerphone is one of my favorite things to do. That may seem boring, but I do a lot of teleconferences. We all know that the speakerphone feature on most smartphones sucks—the Sport II fixes that problem. Finally, you can hear your colleagues in crystal-clear audio. (Which, depending on how exciting your job is may or may not be a good thing.) I also like using the speakerphone feature to pass time while cooking and doing chores. I forgot how cool speakerphones could be until I rediscovered them thanks to the Sport II.
The AOMAIS Sport II is covered by a 12-month (1-year) warranty.
The Sport II Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker 4.0 provides extreme durability, ruggedness, waterproofing and shockproofing as its major selling points—which is a good thing, because it’s definitely designed for the outdoorsy type. That said, sound quality is very nice, so when you combine these two aspects together, you have a great speaker.

- The main downside with this one is the battery isn’t as rugged as the rest of the speaker in that the most common problem that occurs with this model is that the battery may sometimes not hold a charge that long. It’s more of a defective battery issue than with the device itself, but worth mentioning nonetheless. The good news is there’s a 1-year warranty and AOMAIS has excellent customer service that can help you troubleshoot this rare but frustrating issue.
